Phonics
I utilize Orton-Gillingham (OG) Multisensory Phonics Instruction to help my students achieve phonemic achievement. OG is a multisensory teaching approach that was designed to help struggling readers. This approach uses sight, hearing, touch, and movement to help students connect language with letters and words. It explicitly teaches the connections between letters and sounds by breaking reading and spelling down into smaller skills, and then building on these skills over time.
