Welcome!  

My name is Mrs. Chahine and I am enjoying my 20th year teaching third grade at Lyncrest School.  I love my 3rd graders and I am looking forward to another exciting school year! Mrs. Flynn and I will be working closely together and enjoying collaborative activities with our third grade classes.  Teaching is my passion and I can honestly say I love going to work every morning. There is never a dull moment in school and the rewards of my job are priceless. 

I am a big believer in positive reinforcement.  Positive communication is a tool to reinforce good behavior and eliminate bad behavior; it builds self-esteem and inspires confidence in children. And it's easy — once you get the hang of it! Children's feelings of esteem are very highly influenced by their interaction and relationship with their parents. Children need to feel loved and accepted, and you can communicate those feelings to your children by the way you speak.  Once you develop the habit of consistent positive reinforcement at home, you'll see that communicating is easier, and you will also be helping your son or daughter learn to communicate with the outside world. One of the most important rules in my class is to always be positive. As a result of our good, positive character, our class is becoming more kind, caring, and attentive to the feelings of others. I want to compliment my students for always doing their best!
