Network Upgrade - 2013

Beginning in April 2013, the technology department began the physical upgrade of our network. Although much of the work was behind the scenes to update servers and switches, the technicians and a support team from Bergen Tech worked through each building to upgrade EVERY computer in the district. The upgrade included a new operating system (Windows7) and Microsoft Office suite (2010). In addition to Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Chrome were added to most computers, offering more options to browse the internet.
All computers received a core package of updated software; additional software was also reinstalled based on your software inventory and input from subject supervisors. The technicians are still installing some software. If your subject specific software is not yet reinstalled, please see your supervisor before contacting the Technology Department.
Some of the old style Smartboards (black frame, round erasers with serial connections) are not compatible with Windows7, and are therefore being replaced. Smart Slates will still work in these rooms and can be used while you await the installation of the upgraded Smartboard.
The ETICKET system will NOT be used at the start of school. Technicians will be available in each school to resolve issues as they arise. Please submit your tech request in writing (be specific) to your main office.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
